Navigating the modern enterprise healthtech landscape can feel like deciphering a matrix of overlapping platforms, clinical tools, and regulatory terms. For HR, People & Culture, and WHS leaders in larger organisations, and Founders, General Management and Directors in SMEs, the challenge isn’t finding solutions, it’s cutting through the noise to build a relevant strategy that actually works.
That’s why we put together Australia and New Zealand’s workplace wellness tech landscape. Clinical Advisors has recently been engaged by a retained client in this space and since I first created a map in 2024, the landscape has changed (some have pivoted, some entered the healthtech graveyard, some merged or acquired).
Rather than dumping every generic HR tool into a massive spreadsheet, this map isolates pure-play Australian-focused platforms across five distinct, high-impact categories:
1. Telehealth for business
Virtual primary care has shifted from a B2C luxury to an essential employee benefit. Platforms like Hola and hubPass give employees on-demand access to virtual GPs, prescriptions, and medical certificates, reducing absenteeism and delivering immediate clinical care.
2. Modern EAP & platforms
Traditional reactive Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) are stepping aside for proactive, digital-first hubs. Heavyweights like TELUS Health and Sonder sit alongside local digital disruptors like Uprise, FOREMIND, and CU Health. These systems combine early mental health interventions with aggregated data analytics to help leaders spot burnout before it happens.
3. Psychosocial & WHS compliance
With Safe Work Australia’s Model Code of Practice making psychosocial hazard management a mandatory WHS duty, compliance tech is booming. Diagnostic platforms like FlourishDx and Simpatico help organisations audit risk, while operational tools like HSI Donesafe and SHEQSY by SafetyCulture manage incidents and field safety.
4. Lifestyle & rewards
To drive everyday engagement, lifestyle platforms like WHEREFIT, Circle In, and PUML Better Health focus on preventative health, family-stage support, and gamified wellness rewards — helping organisations build healthy workplace habits.
5. Wildcards (EMR & injury management)
For high-risk environments, specialist tools like My Occ Health Record (EMR) and Preventure (wearable biomechanical tech) sit in a dedicated class of their own[cite: 2], addressing physical injury prevention and statutory compliance.
Key takeaways for health & safety leaders
The market is shifting from fragmented perks towards integrated clinical strategy. When evaluating tech for your workforce, focus on three fundamentals:
Clear categorisation: Know whether you are buying a diagnostic compliance tool, a virtual care platform, or a lifestyle perk.
Clinical integrity: Look for platforms backed by sound clinical frameworks, validated assessment tools, and evidence-based care.
Actionable analytics: Ensure the tool delivers aggregate, de-identified data that allows leadership to address systemic psychosocial risks rather than just treating symptoms.
