The sweet spot of clinical talent
At Clinical Advisors, we are becoming known for commercial growth and access. However, my journey in Australia actually began 17 years ago in talent (the fancy way of saying healthcare recruitment). More than a decade ago, I noticed a subtle shift: clinicians were becoming restless and burnt out, looking to dip their toes into something different.
While scouring SEEK daily, I found a tech company in need of a "Medical Officer". I called them, and within a week, a GP from my network was in their office advising on their product. It was a small start, worth only hundreds of dollars in fees, but the door was officially ajar.
What followed was a steady stream of placements that proved the demand. I placed psychologists, GPs, and specialists into insurance companies, and oncologist medical directors into CROs. During the pandemic, this expanded to dozens of clinicians across mainstream and niche disciplines for a government agency.
Through tracking data daily over the last five years, the trend has become a definitive reality: clinicians are firmly moving beyond the bedside. In just the last few weeks, I have been flooded with new opportunities.
The clinical recruitment sweet spot
Our consultancy occupies a unique "sweet spot" that traditional firms often miss.
Traditional locum and healthcare agencies focus heavily on hospitals and medical centres but often struggle to operate outside that specific scope.
Medtech and life sciences agencies understand the corporate side but frequently lack a deep, established clinician network.
We sit right in the middle. Our approach is built on two fundamentals: leveraging a specialist network built over 17 years and conducting acute research to headhunt talent within the region.
Are you a non-healthcare organisation seeking the strategic edge of healthcare / medical expertise? We have the network to bridge the gap.
